I’ve been telling myself I was going to write again… but it never happened. my first attempts at writing go back to when I actually learnt to write. I was 6.
I started writing fantasy stories and I used to play a game: I would get pieces of papers and i would write characters, locations, actions, feelings, etc. then i will select a few random pieces and get a story together out of what I got.
It was a fun game and I used to spend entire days playing it.
Then one day, I was at school, I was about 10 years old. My primary school teacher asked the class to write a fantasy story as an assignment. I was on top of the moon!
I wrote my story and handed it: my teacher read it, looked at me and then asked me: “where did you copy that from?” I was shocked. The teacher didn’t believe I wrote my story and I started thinking that if that was what was going to happen with my stories, it wasn’t worth it to spend time writing them at all. And so I stopped.
I always tried to get back into writing again, but always feared people’s opinion. Now I’m almost 40 and I think I reached a stage in my life where i don’t really care anymore what people might think of me, hence… I’m gonna give it another go! Wish me luck!
This blog might either be the beginning of a wonderful lifetime adventure or pretty much a short attempt ending up in failure. I’ll give it a try and see where it goes.
What I’m gonna write about? Well, in a world where we are online 24/7, I want to write about experiences where no technology is involved, hence the title of this blog: unplugged. Unfortunately the Unplugged dominion was taken and I had to add 404, which has a connected meaning anyway. Anyhoo (like a good friend of mine would say), Unplugged is about trips, adventures, music, friendships (like the ones in the 90s!) and everything that involves living life while being disconnected from the world of the internet.
My first adventure will start in the new year: 12 days in Patagonia, starting Jan 2nd. Wish me luck!
